Modern red riding hood costume. Red riding hood costume with your own hands. How to make the rest of the clothes for the costume

For my daughter for the new year I decided to make a costume of RED RIDING HOOD. Here's some information I gleaned from the internet. Maybe someone will come in handy.

1. RED RIDING HOOD OPTION

from a rectangular piece of fabric
We collect on black stripes.
First, into the pipe, but not to the end, but a little, about 3-4 cm, depending on the hairstyle, because if there is a ponytail, then you need to sew more to fit it, and if the haircut, then we sew less. We collect the top of the head, and make a large hem so that the lapel is denser (this is if the cap is single), it would be good to glue it. Then we bend along the fold, the cap is ready.
You can make ties if you like.

2.

3. The fabric is medium density cotton. I pecked the hat with a dublerin + added a hair pad in one layer (it is usually used in men's jackets) The handbag is quilted with a layer of bulk pad. Height 12 cm, width of one side 8 cm. A wire is inserted along the top to maintain the shape of the handbag.

4. Take measurements like this: head circumference from crown to chin = take 3/4 = length of the upper part. Circle horizontally = take 1/4 = the width of the upper part along the fold line. We make the bottom of an arbitrary width, but not less than 1/3 of the exhaust gas. The height of the bottom is 5-10 centimeters higher than the fold line of the upper part. Collect or fold the top. Below - a drawstring with an elastic band. Estimated calculations. On the edge of the hat, you can make a lapel or sew on lace. I did both lapel and lace. The upper part was made double with a fold along the edge, and the bottom - single.

5. a very simple pattern, hats, I made according to its size. Her version was made of velvet on both sides, and since I had a strain with the fabric, I made a single layer.

COSTUME RED RIDING HOOD.(PATTERN)

Character: The bravest girl in Europe, known to us from the fairy tale of the same name by Charles Perot, distinguished by her love for her grandmother and intimate conversations.

Costume: Little Red Riding Hood, by and large, can be dressed in anything, as long as she has an identifying red headdress. We offer to dress the girl in a white blouse, fluffy skirt, vest, apron and, of course, a red cap.

A blouse can be easily sewn if a suitable one was not found in the girl's wardrobe. To do this, you need to draw a blouse pattern on paper (see Fig. 6 “Drawing of Little Red Riding Hood's blouse”), and then transfer it to the fabric using a bar of soap or tailor's chalk. Cut out the details of the blouse, remembering to add 1 cm for seam allowances.

Rice. 6 Drawing of Little Red Riding Hood's blouse---------------Fig. 7. Drawing of a vest, apron and skirt of Little Red Riding Hood

Draw a skirt pattern on paper (see Fig. 7 Drawing of Little Red Riding Hood's vest, apron and skirt "), and then transfer it to the fabric with a bar of soap or tailor's chalk. Cut out the details of the skirt, not forgetting to add D cm for seam allowances.

Stitch the side seam of the skirt, overcast it. Fold up the top of the skirt, leaving a gap for threading the elastic. Fold up the bottom of the skirt. Pass the elastic through the waistband of the skirt.

The vest can be made from brown fabric or checkered fabric. Stitch side and shoulder seams and overcast. Work the edge of the neckline, sides, armholes of the sleeves and the bottom with a zigzag seam. For more experienced dressmakers, we can offer to process with turning. If the fabric is loose enough, then you can thread a ribbon for lacing in front between the threads of the fabric. An ordinary satin ribbon 0.5 cm wide will do. The edges of the ribbon must be singeed to prevent shedding. If the fabric is dense, then loops can be made in the places marked on the drawing (see Fig. 7 “Drawing of the vest, apron and skirt of Little Red Riding Hood”). Lace up the vest.

The apron is cut out of white fabric according to the drawing. To give elegance, you can sew a frill along the edge of the apron. This can be a finished lace ribbon or a strip cut from the same fabric as the apron itself. The tape should be 3.5-4 cm wide.

If this is a strip of fabric, then one side is processed with a zigzag seam, pulling the edge. Thread the raw edge of the tape onto the thread and pull it so that the length of the assembled tape is equal to the length of the apron's flying edge. Apply tape along the edge of the apron face to face and stitch. Overcast seam seam. Iron the allowance towards the apron and sew a finishing stitch. Treat the upper cut of the apron with a braid 2 cm wide. To do this, fold the braid in half along the face from the outside, iron it. Place the top edge of the apron between the two layers of folded tape and stitch.

Rice. 8. Drawing of Little Red Riding Hood's headdress

The hat must be sewn, of course, from red fabric, although you can use a ready-made headdress in a suit, for example, a red panama hat. For manufacturing, redraw the pattern from fig. 8 “Little Red Riding Hood Drawing” and transfer it to the fabric, adding 1 cm on each side for seams. Cut out a frill from the same fabric (or you can use a ready-made lace ribbon), overcast one edge, gather along the other edge to a length equal to the length of the rounded part of the bottom. Sew the bottom of the hat to the back of the convex part of the base of the hat, while inserting the frill. Bend the lower section of the cap or process it with a satin ribbon 2 cm wide. To do this, fold the ribbon in half along the face from the outside, iron it. Place the cut between the two layers of folded tape and stitch along, leaving 25 cm of tape on each side for ties.

Little Red Riding Hood Carnival Costume
The Little Red Riding Hood costume consists of five main parts: a skirt, a blouse, a bodice, an apron and, of course, a red riding hood.

A suitable blouse for a suit can be selected from your girl's existing wardrobe in white, beige or light pink, or you can sew it yourself using the pattern below.

The skirt can also be chosen arbitrarily or sewn specially in the most common way (see pattern below)
It gives the costume a special charm and zest - a corsage, which is not difficult to make; the main thing is to choose a suitable dense fabric in red or black.

The apron is also sewn very simply, it can be made smooth satin or openwork lace, it all depends on your unbridled imagination and the wishes of your child.

And, of course, the main detail of the carnival costume is a red hat. The proposed pattern suggests a hat in the form of a bonnet, which is easy to sew without much difficulty. In addition, such a hat can be decorated with lace trim or a white thin frill.

LOTS OF PHOTOS FOR INSPIRATION

The matinee is coming soon, and your daughter is playing the role of Little Red Riding Hood there? Have you already thought of a costume, but you have no idea how to make a headdress? Then this article is for you. We collected six patterns of red riding hoods and added a variant of one costume as a bonus. Interesting? Then read the article.

simple red riding hood

The headdress of a fairy-tale heroine can be made quickly. But it is not necessary to make a hat at once. After all, if you try, you can sew a headdress in which your daughter can go through more than one season. Moreover, she will put on a hat with pleasure, because after the matinee it will become almost magical in the children's imagination. How to make a headdress? First you need to print out the red hat pattern. And do not forget to scale it, based on the parameters of the child's head. Now you need to transfer the pattern to the fabric. You can sew a hat both from natural woolen fabric and from artificial, for example, from fleece. The headdress can be made in one color, or the lining can be made of white material.

How to sew a red hat with your own hands? The pattern is transferred to the fabric and all the details are cut out? Now you should alternately sew the top of the cap and the lining. We sew a rectangle to the side of the headdress, and sew the other side to the opposite part of it. When the two parts of the product are ready, you should connect them together. In order for the hat to be well fixed, you need to sew a button on one part of the headdress, and make a hinged loop on the other.

Cap with a fastener at the back of the head

Making such a headdress is even easier than the previous one. How to sew a hat for a red product is attached above. It needs to be cut and adjusted to the dimensions of the child. Such a headdress is made without lining, so you immediately need to choose a dense fabric. But this only applies if you plan to make a hat for walking along the street. If the headdress is made at one time for a matinee, you can choose a beautiful and thin material, for example, satin.

Have you printed and cut out the red hat pattern? Now you can start collecting the product. We sew a button on the two sides of the workpiece, and then we fasten them with threads or ribbons. Detailed instructions are given above.

bonnet

The pattern of the red cap may not be quite standard, and even old-fashioned. And why not actually send the fairy-tale heroine to past centuries, when girls wore bonnets? Daughter will be happy with this transformation. How to sew an extravagant headdress? The first step is to print the pattern. Now you need to cut 6 parts from the red fabric. Then we sew them one by one. First you need to assemble the back of the head. To better keep it on your head, you should insert an elastic band. Now you need to make a border. We sew the parts in pairs, and then attach to the edge of the finished base. To make the headdress look prettier, you can trim the edge of the cap with beautiful braid or thin lace.

Warm red hat

Such a headdress will not look very appropriate on a matinee, but for everyday wear it is perfect. The above is for the red cap. With your own hands, such a headdress will be easy to build. Print out the pattern and scale it. Now you need to take artificial or real fur. If you found red material - good, but if not, then you should not worry. The fur is well tinted with fabric dyes. You can repaint both the finished product and the material itself before you start cutting it.

We transfer the contour from the paper pattern to the fur, cut out the details. It is advisable to sew a hat on the lining. So it will be warmer, and the headdress will look prettier. First you need to grind the upper parts of the parts, and then sew the blanks of the cap together. The finished product can be decorated with a pompom and ties.

Townswoman's hat

Above, we told how to sew a cap, now it's the turn to tell how to make a headdress for a 19th-century townswoman. Above you will find a hat pattern for Little Red Riding Hood. It will be possible to make such a product with your own hands not only for an experienced craftswoman, but also for a novice needlewoman. Print out the pattern and scale it. It is best to sew such a hat from a beautiful smooth fabric, for example, from satin. We cut out the details from the fabric, and then duplicate the bottom and fields from cardboard. What for? To keep the headdress in better shape. Glue blanks to cardboard. Now you can sew the headpiece. We sew the tulle to the bottom, and then we attach the fields to it. To make the hat more decorative, you can decorate it with lace, ribbons or flowers.

Hood

The easiest way to make a hat for Little Red Riding Hood is to copy it from a Disney cartoon. Probably everyone remembers that there the main character walked in a raincoat with a hood. But after all, a cape on the head can be sewn separately, without a raincoat. A pattern of a red cap for a girl of this kind is attached above. You should print the drawing and fit it to the dimensions of the child's head. The coquette is made at will. If you do not plan to attach the hood to your clothes, then you need to make a decorative lining from the bottom, otherwise the headpiece will look unfinished. We cut out the details from the red fabric. You can also cut out the lining if you like. Now you need to sew the two parts of the hood together. If you made a lining, stitch it. If the headdress is unlined, then the edges of the product should be turned. Let's move on to the coquette. Sew it to the bottom of the hood on both sides. You can decorate this element with buttons or beautiful ribbons.

Little Red Riding Hood Costume

The easiest way to collect a daughter for a matinee is to make her an image from a raincoat. Little Red Riding Hood is just the character for whom the cloak is very suitable. We told how to sew a hood in the previous paragraph, and now we will tell you how to make the cape itself. Above you will find the Little Red Riding Hood costume pattern. Even a woman who rarely sits at a sewing machine can make it with her own hands. We print the pattern or draw it based on our image.

The cloak must be made on a lining, so there should be two blanks: one will be red, and the other can be of any color. Now cut out the pieces and sew them together. A hood should be sewn to the upper edge of the product. We attach ties to it so that it is easy to fix the raincoat on clothes. Now you can do the decoration of the product. For example, sew on patch pockets and sew on a number of buttons. An elegant dress and black boots or boots can complement this costume. Do not forget to give your daughter a basket in her hands - a mandatory attribute of any Little Red Riding Hood. It is not necessary to put pies in it, but still the child will be pleased to find them there.

A holiday in kindergarten or school is always an important event for girls. They want to prepare a dress and jewelry in advance. Currently, almost all mothers go to the store for a ready-made outfit, without thinking that they can make it themselves. Sewing a Little Red Riding Hood costume with your own hands for a child is not as difficult as it might seem. Especially if this is done on the basis of a white dress from the Snowflake costume, left over from last New Year.

Sewing a Little Red Riding Hood costume

To make a New Year's costume, just pick up a master class that offers simple patterns.

Outfit for a girl

To make a Little Red Riding Hood costume for a girl with your own hands you will need the following materials:

  1. Red satin. A skirt and a hat will be sewn from it.
  2. White satin for making an apron.
  3. White lace.
  4. Hidden zipper or elastic band.
  5. Sequins.
  6. Adhesive interlining.
  7. Dark fabric to sew a vest.
  8. Two laces.

If there is no white dress, then you will need to sew or take a white blouse from another suit. The pattern is easy to pick up in the magazine "Burda". To make a blouse, you will need a white satin 150 cm wide.

From red satin sew a semi-sun skirt. If there is a white dress for the base, then a red skirt can be sewn over it. To do this, you need to unpick the bottom of the dress, and then sew it on again, but together with the red skirt. A petticoat is not needed.

In the absence of a ready-made white dress, the Little Red Riding Hood children's costume is sewn from scratch. In this case, a wide belt is sewn to the red skirt, an elastic band is threaded into it. This is if you choose the easy way.

For a more complex option, you need to sew a belt to the skirt at the waist and glue it with interlining. Here you need a hidden lightning, lateral. Decorate the bottom of the skirt with sequins, retreating 5 cm from the edge. Jewelry can be sewn on a sewing machine.

The petticoat is made of tulle. In width, the fabric must be taken three times the size of the girth of the hips, then collect it on a satin belt.

To sew the apron, you will need a piece of white satin measuring 20 cm long and 23 cm wide. Round off two corners of this rectangle. Sheathe the edges with lace, neatly folded folds . Lace will need approximately twice the perimeter to which it is attached. Next, cut out the ties for the belt along the oblique and sew them to the apron, slightly folded.

In order for the lace to lie well and not wrap, it is recommended to stitch the apron, stepping back 2 cm from the edge.

For the manufacture of the headdress, red satin is used. The red cap pattern for the costume consists of two parts. The back piece is single, in the form of a rectangle with two rounded corners. The height of the part is equal to the distance from the base of the head to the top of the head. The pattern of the front part is also in the form of a rectangle. It should be double, glued with interlining. The width of the rectangle is equal to the distance from the crown to the forehead, excluding the lapel. For a lapel, it is enough to leave a margin of 4-5 cm of fabric.

The front part of the cap is sewn to the back part, to its three sides. Therefore, the length of the front part must be equal to the sum of the lengths of the three sides of the back part.

To make the front part double, you need to fold its parts with the front side inward and sew together. Then turn inside out, iron and topstitch about 5mm from the edge.

The front part of the hat is sewn to the back, and the edges are processed with a zigzag. The remaining raw bottom edge of the back piece must be tucked up and stitched.

On the Internet you can find visual diagrams of how to sew a hat for Little Red Riding Hood, the patterns of this accessory are different. The headpiece can be crocheted. You need to sew ties to the cap or pin it to the hair with the help of invisibles.

The carnival costume will look original if you wear a vest. It is easy to find her pattern in any fashion magazine. Brown spandex is suitable for making a vest. The clasp can be sewn in the form of air loops, then laced. Decorate the finished item with sequins.

The costume is ready, you can complement the image with white tights, beautiful shoes and a basket.

Bodice for Little Red Riding Hood costume

1. Take an old newspaper or a piece of paper and draw a bodice pattern on it (use a basic pattern from any magazine or just circle the t-shirt to size).

2. Cut out 2 front pieces and 4 back pieces from white fabric (do not forget to leave 0.5 cm allowances). Sew 2 bodices from them - you will get a lining and the front side of the blouse. To do this, stitch the shoulder and side seams.

Back details - front details

3. Fold the details of the bodice facing each other and sew along the edge of the neckline. Cut off the allowance.

4. Turn the bodice right side out and iron it. Sew around the armholes and the bottom of the product.

5. Now you need to sew puff sleeves. To do this, cut out 2 "wings" of the desired height from the fabric. Finish the edge with an overlog or with a zigzag seam, then step back from the edge by 1.5 cm and sew a narrow elastic band in a wide zigzag. Fasten the ends of the elastic by hand.

6. Gather the upper part of the sleeve a little, and then sew the sleeve into the armhole of the bodice. Finish the edge of the fabric with a zigzag stitch.

7. Gather and sew the second sleeve.

8. It remains to arrange the back of the bodice. Fold in the allowances of the front and lining parts and sew on the zipper.

9. To make the dress look neater, and the lock does not unfasten, you can sew a zipper a little lower, and install a hook at the very top.

Suit skirt

You can sew a skirt for a Little Red Riding Hood costume with your own hands, but it is much easier to use a finished one. Argue the belt, turn the skirt inside out and sew to the bottom edge of the bodice.

As a spectacular addition, you can make a fluffy lining skirt. It will come in handy for all the festive girly costumes more than once. Such a skirt is worn separately, and is sewn like a regular sun skirt with an elastic band. It requires at least three layers of rigid mesh. Ruffles will add splendor.

Cloak

1. Lay out the red fabric and fold it in half. Place a plate on the fold line, the diameter of which is approximately equal to the circumference of the child's neck. Measure the length of the fabric along the fold from the plate to the edge.

The arrow shows the fold of the fabric

2. Grab the measuring tape with a plate. Measure the length of the coat with tape. Then connect the resulting points with an arc and cut off the excess fabric. You will get a blank for a raincoat about 3/4 of the circle. Circle the cup and also cut off the excess.

3. Treat the edges of the raincoat so that they do not crumble.

4. Now, from the same red fabric, cut out 4 parts for the hat: 2 for the front side and 2 for the lining. Try to make the bottom of the part match in shape and size with the neckline of the raincoat. Approximately the height of the cap part is 11.5 cm, and the width is 10.5 cm (at the widest point). The figures are approximate, as the size of the head in children may vary. Also remember to allow for seam allowances.

Only 4 parts: 2 for the "face", 2 for the lining

5. To assemble the cap, take 2 pieces each, connect with the right sides inward and sew the occipital seams. Then fold the received parts together also with the right side inward and sew. Leave the neck open.

6. Turn the product right side out, smooth the seams, and then sew at the base (neck).

7. Stitch the top of the raincoat so that one of the threads is taut and the second is loose. Pull on the loose thread and form even folds. The top of the cloak should match the length of the bottom of the hood. Connect the parts with pins and sew like this.

8. Finish the seam with red tape.

9. From the same tape, make Velcro fasteners or simply sew on long ribbons - they can be secured with a free bow.

10. Sew Velcro to the top of the blouse and to the back of the cloak. Velcro will make the suit look more solid.

Vest for Little Red Riding Hood

It's time to create the main highlight of the Little Red Riding Hood costume - an artificial leather (vinyl) vest with satin lacing.

1. From a piece of black vinyl, cut a vest that is simple in shape (you can use the previously used blouse pattern as a basis) - 2 parts. Then, in the middle of one part (this will be in front of the corset), cut a strip vertically. This is necessary so that there is a sufficiently large gap between the sides of the corset, and the lacing looks spectacular.

Also make a deeper cut on the details of the front.

2. Sew side and shoulder seams. Try on the vest to see if it fits well. Trim off excess if necessary. You don't need to finish the edges.

3. It remains to punch holes with eyelets and thread the tape into them. Use safety pins to mark the location of the loops.

4. Make small cross cuts at the puncture sites, cut off the triangular “petals” from the cuts to round the holes. Using a punch and hammer, secure the eyelets (if you've never done this before, practice on a piece of vinyl first - it takes a little skill).

5. Lace up the corset with a red ribbon from top to bottom, tie a bow at the bottom.

The Little Red Riding Hood costume for the girl is ready!

Beloved by everyone since childhood, Little Red Riding Hood can decorate your home! She has a pretty lace apron, a pretty face, and pretty shoes. Why not sew such a doll with your own hands?

The process of making it is not very difficult. Even a novice master can make our Little Red Riding Hood. Of course, you will need to sew a lot of different parts - the body, clothes, shoes and even a hat. But the more interesting! Moreover, each part individually does not differ in the complexity of manufacturing.

In order to sew a doll with your own hands, you will need:

  • flesh-colored felt for the girl's head and body;
  • a little brown felt for the vest and shoes
  • yarn for hair, a piece of white fabric for an apron
  • some colored fabric for the dress, lace for trim
  • thick bright red fabric for a hat.

You can not do without scissors, pins, threads and needles. Also stock up on a small amount of synthetic winterizer and fabric markers.

So let's get started! We do everything step by step, trying to make even, neat stitches. But don't be discouraged if it doesn't work right away! A little practice - and your dolls will be amazing.

To get started, download and print the patterns for all the details of the doll and her clothes. Pin patterns on the fabric with pins, draw lines with chalk, taking into account the indents for the seams. After that, cut out all the details and fold them in a pile so that they are already at hand.

Head

The head is the most important part of the doll! Take two pieces of pink felt head, carefully sew them together.

Turn the head inside out and sew on the ears.

Stuff the head with fibrous filler, sew up the hole with a seam over the edge.

Now - the most crucial moment: you need to make Little Red Riding Hood's eyes. If you feel strong in yourself, you can draw them yourself, with special markers, on white cotton fabric, cut them out and then stick them on your face. You can also buy eyes from craft stores or use black tacks lined with white felt.

Embroider the mouth with thick red thread. The face is ready!

Body

Sew the body along the side lines. Turn inside out, fill with padding polyester and insert a small wooden or plastic stick inside for stability.

After that, sew the details of the legs along the front line.

Turn them inside out. Now you can sew on the soles. Don't worry if it doesn't turn out very neat, because the doll will put on her shoes too! If you put thick paper in the soles, then the doll will stand more stable. After that, sew the handles. If you want the handles to bend, then insert wire into them.

Twist the ends of the wire with duct tape (for safety).

Mark the middle at the bottom of the body with a thick thread.

Sew the legs to the bottom of the body.

Attach the handles with wire. After that, sew along the shoulder line.

Insert the end of the stick into the head, sew the neck using a fairly thick thread. Take some light brown or reddish yarn. Divide into two bundles as shown in the picture.

One bun will be used to form the bangs, so it will be a little shorter on one side. Sew the hair to the top of the head.

Make an even seam in the middle. You can simply glue the hair on the back.

Petticoat and pantaloons

Now it would be nice to sew a beautiful underskirt and pantaloons for our Little Red Riding Hood. Pants are sewn very simply: they consist of two rectangles. Sew lace to the bottom of the rectangles. Fold the rectangles and make two seams from point A to point B (as in the picture).

Lay the future panties so that the seam is at the top, in the middle. Now we will make two seams from point B to points C.

Insert an elastic band or elastic thread at the top and bottom. Now the doll has lace panties!

The underskirt is sewn quite simply, the main thing is not to forget about the allowance and sew on the lace. The length of the skirt is approximately 8-10 centimeters.

To sew an elegant dress, you have to work hard.

First, sew the shoulder and side lines.

Cut the fabric a little in the armpit area so that the dress sits better.

Now gather the skirt and sew it to the belt. Turn inside out, finish the seams and add lace on the collar. You can make buttons on the back.

boots

To make boots, cut out the sole and the main part of the shoe from thick felt. Punch holes for the laces.

Sew the sole to the boot. Here you have to try to make the seams as even as possible! Insert the laces (approximately 20 centimeters).

We put our boots on the doll!
